Our friends at Brann & Isaacson are seeking a tax paralegal to provide full-time analytical support for its state and local tax practice, and to potentially assist other corporate practice areas as needed. We are a thriving and growing practice looking to add critical support to our team so that we are better able to serve our client’s needs. Brann & Isaacson represents businesses located throughout the world in state and local tax and escheat matters in the United States. This position offers the unique opportunity to work on sophisticated local, state and national tax matters.
Responsibilities vary day to day, but include assisting attorneys in defending audits; state and local tax law research; data collection and analysis for state and local tax audits, as well as drafting responses to audit information requests; interviews of clients and interactions with clients’ accounting/tax and finance departments; and communication with state and local tax departments.
Applicants must possess excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must also have strong mathematical skills and an understanding of financial workpapers and other financial statements. Experience with tax audits or as an administrative/legal assistant strongly preferred. An advanced skill level in Excel, Word, and PDF software essential. Bachelors degree or other post-secondary education preferred.
